GRONINGEN
Pulsating Metropolis in the North of the Netherlands
Groningen is a metropolis and region in the north of the Netherlands, and was chosen within the scope of an EU study in summer 2007 as the town most worth living in Europe.
The youngest town in the country boasts more than 180,000 inhabitants, of whom about half are under the age of 35. And it is these inhabitants that provide for a unique, vital townscape. The Hanseatic town offers a special combination of typical old buildings, the most modern architecture, countless restaurants, street cafés, night clubs, music festivals and high-class shopping opportunities. Not only the town is worth a visit, but also the province of Groningen lures visitors in with its Lauwersmeer National Park, the tiny villages of Bourtange, Pieterburen, Borgen and Warften, and numerous historical churches.
Classical press and media work in the German market in the area of tourism since May 2006. Organisation and realisation of press travel. Consultation duties regarding the interlinking of Groningen together with other tourist agencies and destinations.
